Native tract of Gir Cows is Saurashtra region of Gujarat, this is in Rajkot, Junagadh, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Morbi and Jamnagar district of Gujarat. Contact for Gir Breeder Association is Sh. BK Ahir, Mob: 9825415226, who can help procurement of cows. If you go directly to interior parts of these districts, Gir cow will cost around 60-70000 (around 8-10 Kg daily milk production, 2-3rd lactation, breed characters variable). If you go to organized breeders, cost will be starting from 100000 to 500000 depending upon breed characters, reputation of breeder and production level of animals.
