Dear Friends & Administrator,
First of all let me briefly introduce myself - I am presently working with European Union in New Delhi as Adviser on Education & Policy for India and SAARC. I have more than 25 years of experience and now I'm planning to deviate from my job & return to my village in Bihar where my parents have settled. On return to my village I want to continue with the effort of education & skill development and try to empower the youths in my village. When I completed my MBA in UK way back in 1996, the first thing I wanted was to open a dairy but that time I was young and was really not prepared.
Now, I plan to return to my village and want to pursue my dream and set-up state-of-the art dairy.
For this I wanted to know - is there any forum exclusive for beginners like me? any suggestions from experience people, what to do, what not to, whom to contact etc.
I want to learn and meet people who are connected with Dairy Farming.
How do I go about it? Will be eagerly looking forward to be guided.
Are there any web links / Reports which you can share will be appreciated.
Lots of regards
Sanjeev

hi
Dear sanjiv
Thanks Nallavi
Dear Mr. Sanjeev,
It is good to hear that, an educated person is willing to go back to your village and start a dairy farm on your own. Definitely, I will be the first person to encourage, but not without sharing views of my/our experiences having started more than 5 dairy farms with differnet size of herd from 25 to 350 animals.
Setting up of Dairy farm is an easy task, until the animals walk-in to the farm. Most of the professionals and consultants will be involved in implementing the project infrastructure and few agents/brokers will involve themselves and help to purchase animals. But actually the situation will become hard and tough during operation of the dairy farm.
Like; maintaining the positive energy of the animals, re-production cycle, culling and incorporation of old and new animals, perfect ration formula and the consistent of supply chain and management, labour management, most of all realising the right market value for the milk produced in the farm as well farm yard manure and many more to discuss.
There are lot of scientific approach to be given in a traditional process followed by our ancestors which will give us a balanced and healthy profitable dairy farm.
There are lots of do and dont's before you do you exercise to start your farm. For further assistance, let us keep in touch. You shall please mail your details to info@processconsultants.co.in for further correspondence.
Wish you all the best for your farm endeavour.

Mani Kanthi
I'm also planning to set up a dairy farm.
