Hello Everyone,
I would like your suggestions for the right green fodder choice for sahiwal / mixed breed for Haryana.
I have zeroed in on
1) Makka ( which variety)
2) Sugargraze
3) Napier ( which variety)
Are all 3 necessary. If so in what proportion, or should I just stick with 2.
Oh I am planning this for 25 animals and have approx 3 acres to grow the green fodder.
Thanks
Hello!
For Sahiwal/mixed breeds in Haryana, the suitable varieties may depend on the climate and soil. Both Macca and Napier are good for such conditions, but it's important to choose varieties that are better adapted to your region. If space is limited, you can stick to two crops, like Macca and Napier, and alternate them for variety in feeding. The ratio depends on the animals' needs and the season, but usually, 2-3 crops work better. 3 acres of land should be sufficient for this purpose.
